Click in the Skype window and type Command-Q. ive been using skype for a long time and usually no issues. This is a little tricky because of the insistent keychain dialog. I didn't have Sign In With Apple setup, so I went to the New York Times to set up a throwaway account to force that setup. It's somehow related to Sign In With Apple, at least for me.
